Graphing Rational Functions

Rational functions require a lot of work to graph. Hera, I give you STEPS that, hopefully, will facilitate the graphing: 1) Factor numerator and denominator 2)Find the domain 3)Put the function in lowest terms 4) Find vertical asymptotes 5) Determine if the graph has any "holes" 6) Find horizontal and oblique (slant) asymptotes 7) Find in which intervals the functions is above or below the x axis (signs of the function) 8) Find the x and y intercepts, and 9) Find if the graph intersects any horizontal asymptote.
